Acute Constipation Protocol

Constipation can be very uncomfortable and over time can cause serious health concerns such as a visit to the ER or long term build up of toxins in the body. The best way to avoid constipation is through a healthy lifestyle and nutritious diet.

The following protocol includes supplementation suggestions to help alleviate acute constipation and help produce a bowel movement quickly. Go to the Regular Bowel Movement Protocol to maintain regularity.

Take the magnesium citrate first. It has the best chance of working within 4 hours. You can take another one if a bowel movement does not occur. If constipation isn't really bad, many people get relief by taking one or two capsules at bedtime.

If the magnesium citrate doesn't help within 4 hours, take the Pure Ascorbic Acid. If that doesn't work, try the MCT oil (this will only work if you don't usually consume MCT oil). Please drink plenty of water throughout the day. Peppermint Spirits can be used at the same time to reduce intestinal cramping.
